    Winter Short Story Award 2020

The Masters Review, an American literary magazine and book publisher, is inviting entries to the Winter Short Story Award 2020.

We don’t have any preferences topically or in terms of style. We’re simply looking for the best. We don’t define, nor are we interested in, stories identified by their genre. We do, however, consider ourselves a publication that focuses on literary fiction. Dazzle us, take chances, and be bold.

You may submit a fiction up to 6,000 words. Only previously unpublished work will be accepted.

The competition will be judged by Kimberly King Parsons.

    Entry fee is 20 USD.

Open to emerging writers. Self-published writers and writers with story collections and novels with a small circulation are welcome to submit. Writers with novels published with a circulation of fewer than 5000 copies can also submit.

    • 1st place: 3,000 USD and publication online
    • 2nd place: 300 USD
    • 3rd place: 200 USD
