The Caterpillar Story For Children Prize 2018

The Caterpillar is the younger sibling of The Moth, a magazine of poems and stories and art for grown-ups. The Caterpillar is for kids between the ages of 7 and 11(ish), though grown-ups are bound to like it too. It appears four times a year (in March, June, September and December) and, like The Moth, is jam-packed full of new artworks and ’wordworks’.

For the fourth year running The Caterpillar Story for Children Prize is now open for entries for a story written by an adult for children (aged 7–11).

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published online or broadcast. You can enter as many stories as you like. There is a word limit of 1,500.

Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author.

Entry fee is 12 Euro (approx. 14 USD) per story.

    Eligibility

Open worldwide to anyone over 16, as long as the work is original and previously unpublished.

    Prize

There is a single prize of 1,000 Euro.

The winners will be announced in December, to coincide with the publication of the winter issue of The Caterpillar.
