ScreenCraft Cinematic Short Story 2017 Contest

Organised by ScreenCraft - a passionate media consultancy, connecting talented writers with studios, producers, managers and agents - the Cinematic Short Story Contest is open to unique cinematic short stories (prose, not scripts).

The material submitted must be in English, and it should be submitted in standard format (PDF, doc, txt, rtf, etc), with standard font. Short stories or novellas longer than 20,000 words are NOT eligible. There are no requirements as to when the material was written.

There is no limit to the number of stories you may submit. The story may have been previously published, however, all submitted material must be original, and all rights must be wholly owned by the writer(s), particularly the film adaptation rights.

All rights and ownership to stories submitted to this contest remain with the author, until and unless other agreements are made.

Entry fee for each story is 39 USD until the November 4th early deadline and then 59 USD until the final deadline on December 16th.

Open worldwide to all writers at least 18 years of age. However, a writer who has earned more than 50,000 USD (or equivalent currency) from professional writing services for film or TV in the preceding year is not eligible.

The grand prize winner will receive 1,000 USD and personal introductions to literary agents, managers, producers and publishers. The top 5 finalists will be read by our network of over 40 literary and entertainment industry professionals.
