    The Moth Poetry Prize 2018

The Moth Poetry Prize is one of the biggest prizes in the world for a single unpublished poem. The prize is open to anyone (over 16) as long as the poem is previously unpublished, and each year it attracts thousands of entries from new and established poets from over 50 countries worldwide.

Now in its eighth year, it continues to offer one of the most lucrative awards in the world for a single unpublished poem.

You can write on any subject and there is no line limit. Entries must be in English, typed, with each entry on a new sheet. You can enter as many poems as you like.

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published online or broadcast.

Entry fee is 12 Euro (approx. 14 USD) per poem.

    Eligibility

Open worldwide to anyone over the age of 16.

    Prize

    • 1st prize: 10,000 Euro (approx. 11,590USD)
    • 3 runner-up prizes of 1,000 Euro (approx. 1,150 USD)

The shortlist will be announced in March 2019 and all four poems will appear in the spring issue of The Moth. The winners will be invited to read at a special award ceremony at Poetry Ireland in Dublin in Spring 2019.
