    Resurgence Poetry Prize 2017

Organised by the Resurgence Trust, publishers of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine, the Resurgence Poetry Prize 2017 is the world’s first major award for Ecopoetry.

Poems do not need to address a specific theme, but should in some way – thematically, structurally, linguistically or formally – investigate the relationship between human culture and the natural world.

Poems should be in English or any dialect of English, not exceed 54 lines in length. Translations are not eligible. A poem's spoken quality – its suitability for being read and recorded aloud – will form part of the judging criteria.

    Copyright remains with the author.

Entry fee is 7 GBP (approx. 8,80 USD) for the first poem and 4 GBP (approx. 5 USD) per subsequent poem.

    Open to anyone worldwide.

    • 1st prize: 5,000 GBP (approx. 6,330 USD) and a residency at White House Farm, Great Glemham
    • 2nd prize: 2,000 GBP (approx. 2,530 USD)
    • 3rd prize: 1,000 GBP (approx. 1,265 USD)

All winners will also be invited to a special awards ceremony at the Poetry in Aldeburgh festival, November 3rd – 5th 2017, co-curated by The Poetry School.
